The Sharjah desert paragliding experience begins with a visit to Mleiha Archaeological center where guests can learn more about the traditional Emiratis. Follow this up with a paragliding session and last, but not the least, a delicious Emirati lunch in a setting resembling the streets of ancient UAE.
Start off with a step back in time by following your tour guide inside the Mleiha archaeological center. You will be welcomed by a brief video describing the looks of the ancient desert landscape and the artifacts unearthed. Built around a circular mid-Bronze age tomb, the unique aspect of this centre is it allows you to explore the original gravesites of many richly adorned horses and camels buried along with their owners. Guests can also view the old lifestyle differences of the rich and poor by visiting “the palace’ and ‘the farmhouse’ complexes. Once your mind is buzzing with all the information, head to the Mleiha desert for a 20-minute paragliding session. After climbing one of Mleiha’s tallest peaks you will launch yourself into the sky and begin your paragliding experience. Feel like a bird and enjoy the view or capture photos of the scenes below you. You must’ve definitely worked up your appetite! A quaint restaurant decorated to resemble a typical ancient Dubai courtyard (complete with balconies, trees and wind towers) is where you will go to feast on some scrumptious local dishes like harees, luqaimat, kabsah and so much more.
